Spiked Melon Agua Fresca
Embrace the colorful melon season with this refreshing spiked agua fresca. Share with friends at an end-of-summer BBQ or sip it poolside with a good book. This drinkable delight pairs well with a prosciutto-filled charcuterie board, grilled chicken with tarragon, or carnitas tacos with heirloom tomato pico de gallo.

Ingredients for
Spiked Melon Agua Fresca
2 of your favorite ripe melons (I chose canary melons)
5 cups water
16 mint leaves
Juice of 3 limes
1 cup agave or ½ cup white granulated sugar
Ice
8 ounces of your favorite tequila
SERVES 6–8
Instructions for
Spiked Melon Agua Fresca
- Cut melons in half and scoop out the seeds. Either rinse and freeze them to plant next year or compost them.
- Cut the melon into slices and carefully remove the skin with a knife.
- Add cut melon, water, mint, lime juice, and agave or sugar into a blender.
- Blend on medium until the mint becomes specks of green, about 20 seconds.
- Prepare a ½ gallon pitcher with plenty of ice and pour the tequila over the ice.
- Pour the melon mint mixture over the tequila and stir with a spoon.
- Garnish with melon flowers and sprigs of mint.
