Make a stunning display and satisfying appetizer with three ingredients

Creamy cheese, fresh pear, and sweet fig purposely plated make a stunning display and satisfying appetizer. Serve alongside a cheese or charcuterie board for an easy sweet and savory starter.

Ingredients


  • Wedge of young pecorino cheese*, cut into ¼-inch thick slices
  • 1 Bosc pear, cut into thin slices lengthwise
  • Fig jam (find at your local farmers' market)

Instructions

  • On a serving platter arrange the slices of pecorino in a single layer.
  • Top each slice of pecorino with a slice of pear and a teaspoon of fig jam.
  • *Young pecorino cheese is made from sheep's milk and is sometimes labeled "Toscano-style". Since it is aged only 1-3 months it is a soft, table cheese with a mild creamy flavor.
