Join fellow gardeners and build community at a lovely garden party. Stroll through garden plots with wine and appetizers. An Italian dinner will be served family-style with entrees, organic salads, and desserts prepared by chef Monica Szepsy of Q’ero, Encinitas. Composting in small spaces is possible. Learn how to transform kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost with the help of red wiggler worms. Hosted by Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, this free, webinar workshop teaches participants about the benefits of worm composting, how to care for worms, and how to use their castings as compost. Indulge in a night under the stars with gorgeous food at the historic Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center in National City. Experience unique dining at multiple stations including a plant-based grazing table featuring pickled and fermented veggies from the garden, sopes made in the Aztec tradition, and the Kitchenistas’ quesadilla booth with handmade tortillas.
